And now a bit about us.
We run 3 farms in the area.

We have a 400 acre farm 2 miles from oban, which we stock with sheep and cattle.

We run Achnacone farm here in appin which is approx 2500 acres.

We have also just taken over a third farm which we have stocked with black face sheep.  ( approx 1600 acres of hill.)

We have approx 100 cattle ( including young stock) which are a mixture of Angus, Simmental and shorthorn .
we also keep a small amount of pure texel ewes which we breed pure and part texel lambs from .

We have been breeding  Highland ponies for the past 14 years
We also breed working Border Collies..
We need the dogs for gathering our sheep in, but also enjoy keeping these very intelligent animals as part of our family.. we also have an african grey parrot called Einstein, and one shetland pony just for fun and as a companion for young ponies while travelling.

I used to break all of my youngsters in myself but now feel this is a job better left to someone that heals faster that i do!
Both David and I love the ponies and find showing great fun !
I dont have much time for riding anymore hence the reason i am putting my mares in foal.
My goal is to breed the perfect highland pony.( I also love handling and training the foals)

David and i both compete in sheepdog trials if we can find a spare  moment!.
